This question was asked by a interview few days ago. She was saying that she has few big client they are not interested to submit there site into directories or don't want to change on-page, then how you will promote that site?
My Answer : -)
In this Situation I will make a blog on which I will put the content and the exact URL of that site which we have to promote as a hyper link then we will promote that blog in this manner we can promote that site.
But she was not agree with my answer she thought she will make a different site and will promote that site.
What you think you can give your suggestion on comments?

she is right ? but i suggest blog marketing, because blog have many posts so people are come to that blog via indivual posts, so we ll get many traffic in site. most important is if you want to target traffic via blog so always create blog related to site products. so that's target base visitors :)

ya i got same situation one time but i got also good content on home page... so i've just started link building for 2 terms in forums... i did one week constant forum posting and i've seen that i got ranked in Google's First Page.
See if the content is good in website and title have only one sentence or word which related to his keyword and matching it than it's not an issue to target that keyword

Ya that it very nice. But as my suggestion i can go for classified listings based on their services and based on their geographical locations. Also i can write some articles, press releases and even smo also help them to promote. (Its not link building instead its for viral marketing).
There are thousands of thousands way to promote sites. (As per client requirments).
But it intrestings. Nice posts. Keep good posts
